The Burgas District Court ordered the weekend detention of the 14-year-old, who is accused of murdering a 49-year-old Macedonian citizen in Sunny Beach, Bulgarian National Radio reports.

The Bulgarian Public Prosecutor’s Office accuses the minor of committing the crime of murder with intent, while according to his lawyer, it was self-defense.

“We are talking about a person already known to the police, who on February 5th of this year was stopped in the attempt to rob a Ukrainian citizen in Sunny Beach, whom he attacked with a pipe. This is not his first attempt to attack someone,” said prosecutor Ivan Kirkov.

According to the prosecutor, there are evidences that indicate that the suspect committed the murder with intent. Kirkov pointed out that after hitting the victim, the minor, without checking whether the Macedonian citizen was alive, covered him with “remnants of mattresses and a few boards” and left.
