The Ministry of Justice aims to tackle the problem of false declarations of ethnicity in employment with the new guidelines for amending birth, marriage and death certificates. Minister Krenar Lloga will sign the new guidelines on Monday. He previously confirmed this for Alsat TV, adding that there was no need for other legal changes to avoid abuse.
“With this, it will be possible to prove ethnicity with an official document. For any possible abuse of ethnicity, criminal procedures for false reporting can be opened. And the parties in the procedure (in the case of employment) can submit a petition and also a lawsuit for abuse, in case the institution avoids official documents,” said Lloga.
