Authorities seize 161 kilograms of cocaine at the port of Thessaloniki in a joint operation by the Macedonian and Greek police

The Illicit Drug Trafficking Unit, Section for Illicit Trafficking in Drugs, Weapons and Dangerous Substances of the Criminal Police Department, in cooperation and with a joint international investigation with the Drug Enforcement Administration from Thessaloniki, Republic of Greece, the US Drug Enforcement Administration – DEA and the Law Enforcement Center in Southeast Europe – SELEC, yesterday successfully carried out a joint operation on illegal cocaine trade, during which 161 kilograms of cocaine were seized in Thessaloniki.
Yesterday’s raid is a continuation of the successful action from 08 and 09.05 2023, when 105 kg of cocaine were seized in Thessaloniki and 10 people were deprived of their freedom in Greece, namely 7 citizens of the Republic of Greece and 3 citizens of the Republic of Albania, while in the Republic North Macedonia was deprived of freedom 4 people, our citizens, who are currently detained and are in the Skopje remand prison.
