Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, after the leaders’ meeting with the leader of opposition VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski, indicated that the opposition party was not against constitutional changes. Kovachevski claims that this is the message that came out of the meeting with Mickoski. He spoke about the constitutional amendments, which he said do not refer to identity issues but to the protection of the identities of other nations.
“It is good that the position presented this morning by VMRO-DPMNE vice-president Timcho Mucunski is different from what I heard at today’s meeting, which is that VMRO-DPMNE is not against the constitutional amendments, and this is the conclusion from the meeting. Such decisions belong to all political parties, the whole society, and this is not a process of one person, one party, one government,” Kovachevski said.
