Government yes, let it be a transitional government that will organize the next elections, and in that transitional government VMRO-DPMNE does not want to be together with DUI. If the constitutional amendments are on the agenda, VMRO-DPMNE would enter into that process only if the amendment to the constitution is effective after the country becomes an EU member state, said VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski, during an interview with Sitel TV News.
The opposition leader added that it was important that the constitutional amendments apply when Macedonia becomes a member state of the EU.
Mickoski indicated that VMRO-DPMNE appreciated that if someone really wants to see Macedonia in the EU, then they will do so, otherwise VMRO-DPMNE does not intend to support any constitutional changes that will mean uncertainty in the negotiation process.
Asked under what condition that the constitutional amendments are valid on a deferred basis, would VMRO-DPMNE accept these amendments, which are now entering the parliamentary procedure that the Government should send, Mickoski replied that then they will submit a proposal, and behind that proposal they will seek guarantors, and those guarantors should be the EU and the USA, for such a proposal to be submitted to the Parliament.
“That proposal will be submitted to these two institutions, i.e. the office of the European Union and the United States, where they will be the guarantor of that process that Macedonia will apply these constitutional amendments to its Constitution on the day when the ratification of the accession protocol by the EU member states begins”, Mickoski stressed.
