The “We Change” coalition seeks support and mediation from the diplomatic corps, UNICEF, the EU Delegation, the Constitutional Commission, political parties and the president of the state, for the realization of the rights to equality, a dignified life and active inclusion in the overall economic, cultural, social and political life of the persons with a disability.
“These rights are guaranteed to us in accordance with the convention of persons with disabilities and the Constitution, however, due to invisibility in the system, the exercise of these rights is not adapted to our needs and opportunities, as persons with disabilities,” reads the coalition’s statement. The coalition argues that Article 9 of the Constitution does not mention disability as a basis for discrimination and demand the recognition of persons with disabilities as persons equal in freedom and rights in the Constitution.
