The U.S. Department of State’s decision to blacklist Struga Mayor RamizMerko, proves that our judiciary needs to be overhauled, said Macedonian Prime Minister DimitarKovachevski on Wednesday.
The PM criticized the domestic investigative and judicial authorities for not being able to find information about the Struga mayor.
“Our prosecution should investigate the allegations stated by the US State Department. Our prosecution organs should also ask themselves how did the USA organs, positioned thousands of kilometers from here, provided that data, and they did not. This only indicates the need for changes and a general overhaul of the Macedonian judicial system, because we want to live in a European state,”Kovachevski said.
