SSO: In 2022/2023, number of undergrads 4,2% higher than last year

University enrollment rose by 4.2% in the 2022-23 school year compared to 2021-22, according to the latest figures released by the State Statistics Office (SSO) on Monday.

According to the press release, North Macedonia’s universities reported enrolling 53,821 undergraduates, with female students making up 57,5 percent.

Public universities enrolled 77.7 percent and private colleges enrolled 22.3 percent of all undergrads.

“There were 15,097 first-year students in the 2023-23 academic year, which is 28.1 percent of the total number of enrolled undergrads,” reads the press release.
