The judges of Constitutional Court issued a temporary ban against the decision by the Justice Ministry to include ethnic identity in birth certificates. The decision was reached with five votes in favor and two opposed, both “no” votes were from ethnic Albanian justices.
The main reason for initiating a procedure is exceeding the deadline for signing, from signing to publication in the “Official Gazette”.
The former Minister of Justice and Constitutional Law University Professor Renata Deskoska said Tuesday that the decision of the Constitutional Court to review the new guidelines for registry books, which includes a column on nationality, was good news.
