The wildfire near Bogdanci, which broke out in the Brdarov Kamen area of low-growing shrubs and grasses, has been contained, although there are still hot spots, the Crisis Management Center (CMC) said in a press release on Friday.
Around sixty people, National Forests employees, and Bogdanci water utility company staff are battling the blazes, preventing the fire from spreading.
Bogdanci Mayor, Blazhe Shapov, confirmed that the fire has been contained, but firefighting teams are still on the ready as some hotspots remain.
“So far the fire is contained, but the next couple of hours are critical. If there are no new hot spots, the fire will be completely extinguished, Shapov said.
