The Skopje Zoo informed that according to the official results of the autopsy findings, the horses were poisoned with a fast-acting poison.
The results have been submitted to the Ministry of Interior and the Food and Veterinary Medicine Agency for further action, and a criminal report has been filed and the perpetrator is being actively searched for. The Zoo says that they are checking all the footage from the security cameras.
“We strongly condemn such a shameful and cowardly act and appeal to the Ministry of the Interior and the Prosecutor’s Office to act as quickly as possible in order to sanction the perpetrator,” added the Zoo.
On July 29, 2023, three rare and expensive horses, originally from Mongolia, died within 24 hours in the Skopje Zoo.
