Pensioners from all across the country began their mass protest Monday in front of the Associations of Pensioners Union headquarters, demanding its chair resign and the country to raise their pensions.

They are marching to the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, where they will demand a meeting with Minister of Labor and Social Policy JovankaTrenchevska.

Pensioners are demanding a linear increase in payments as well as that the minimum pension be raised to equal the minimum wage.

Last year, the state adopted a new methodology for calculating pensions, which foresees six-percent higher September retirement checks.

Pensioners protested in their cities in the past few days, expressing dissatisfaction with the percentage increase in pensions.
