Macedonian Minister of Health Dr. Fatmir Mexhiti, eld a consultation with the members of the Commission on Infectious Diseases this morning, where the current situation with Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever was analyzed. At the meeting, Mexhiti said that the health system responded promptly and appropriately after detecting the first cases of the Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever.

“The quick reaction of the health authorities prevented new scenarios of exponential growth in the number of new cases with the Congo-Crimean hemorrhagic fever. The Ministry of Health and all health institutions responded promptly and professionally by procuring appropriate therapy, which arrived in our country within 24 hours. The Ministry remains in regular communication and consultation with the Commission for Infectious Diseases, PHI, the Infectious Disease Clinic and, if necessary, appropriate prevention measures will be proposed at an even higher level,” reads the press release from the Ministry of Health.
