A record 4.55 ppm of alcohol was measured on Saturday in the blood of a driver who was stopped by the traffic police in N. Macedonia.
In Prilep, the driver who had 4.55 ppm of alcohol was sanctioned. More than 0.5 ppm of alcohol in the blood is not allowed because the first obstacles when driving a vehicle occur at 0.8 ppm of alcohol.
This is definitely a Macedonian record in measured blood alcohol level, because according to the information so far, the highest amount of alcohol in the blood of a traffic participant measured with a breathalyzer was 4.26 per thousand, on October 11, 2021.
In just six hours of control on Saturday night in the area of Bitola, 58 drivers were sanctioned, 29 of them in Prilep, 13 in Bitola, 6 in Krushevo, 5 in Makedonski Brod, 3 in Resen and 2 in Demir Hisar for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. During the control checks, 42 other types of violations were also sanctioned.
