The leader of opposition VMRO-DPMNE Hristijan Mickoski, along with the deputy leader of VMRO-DPMNE, Aleksandar Nikoloski, held a meeting Friday with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, and the US Ambassador, Angela Aggeler, said VMRO-DPMNE in a press release on Friday.

“At the meeting, the position of the coalition led by VMRO-DPMNE regarding the constitutional amendments was confirmed. The need for strengthening and deepening the strategic friendship between the two countries was also emphasized by both sides. Party leader Mickoski stressed that the current government in Macedonia misinforms the international community, including the United States, about many internal political issues. Once again, the party’s position was affirmed that the essential commitment and priority of VMRO-DPMNE is the EU and Euro-Atlantic values,” VMRO-DPMNE pointed out in a press release after the meeting.

Mickoski added that the only solution out of this exceptionally difficult situation is to hold snap general elections in which the citizens will elect a Government with legitimacy.
