Macedonian volleyball team defeated by Italy in the round of sixteen


The Macedonian volleyball national team ended its performance at the European Championship (EP), after being defeated by the host Italy 3-0 in the round of sixteen in Bari.

The current world and European champion proved to be a formidable opponent for the team of coach Joshko Milenkoski, who made it clear even before the start of the match that the match with Italy would be enjoyable and the crowning glory of their careers.

The Italians won the first set with 25-20, the second with 25-12, and they decided the third in their favor with 25-15.

For the Macedonian volleyball players, this was the third and most successful participation in the European championships.

Within the group stage, which was played in Skopje, the Macedonian volleyball players won the fourth place in group C and for the first time in history secured the round of 16 and placement among the 16 best European teams.
