Amendments to the Criminal Code in exchange for votes for amendments to the Constitution are speculation, there is no room for bargaining but compliance with European legislation. With the changes in the Criminal Code, there will be much greater efficiency and effectiveness in the judiciary and court processes, the possibility of statute of limitations will be avoided and the door will be opened to the confiscation of property acquired with illegal means, said Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski.
The Prime Minister firmly claims that the changes will achieve greater efficiency in court processes and will improve the confiscation of illegally acquired property. Constitutional amendments are a special process of strategic importance that is not related to the changes in the Criminal Code, Kovachevski said.
