French President Emmanuel Macron’s proposal for a two-speed Europe is not a formal proposal submitted to the institutions in Brussels and there is no cause for concern, said Macedonian President StevoPendarovski.
“It is an old proposal of the French president. With the thesis that there should first be deepening before there is enlargement, it means that first there should be changes to the key procedures for enlargement in the EU, and only then should we think about the enlargement of the Union. Such a thing does not happen,” said Pendarovski.
According to Pendarovski, if one looks at it objectively, there have been two or more speeds in the EU for many years and decades ago, because not all member states are part of the Eurozone and the Schengen zone.
