After the data published by the State Department that the percentage of rejected visas for Macedonia in 2022 was 26.29 percent, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said that the process for joining the country to the Visa Waiver Program for the United States has begun. The high percentage of rejected visas of almost 30 percent, according to the MFA, is due to inappropriate applications, for which it plans to soon launch a campaign to educate citizens.
“By the Government’s decision, an interdepartmental working group led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was formed, which consists of representatives of other relevant institutions working to fulfill the conditions for establishing a visa-free regime with the United States. The high percentage of rejected visas of almost 30 percent is due to inappropriate applications, for which we plan to soon start a campaign to educate the citizens,” informed the MFA.
