The Economic Chamber of North-West Macedonia (ECNWM) reacts to the latest government decision to lower the price of basic food products, as well as to the passing of the Solidarity Tax Law. The Chamber appeals to the President of the State not to sign the decree for the promulgation of the Law.
The ECNWM assesses that the decision to reduce the price of products by 10 percent is very harmful for companies.
“The free market economy is called into question by the numerous interventions of the Government, which stimulates the gray economy. When making such decisions, it is necessary to temporarily abolish taxes or customs rates to avoid the shortage of those products on the market, but also to protect domestic producers. With the reduction of prices, the quality of the products is threatened, with which the domestic producers will have to work at a loss,” said the ECNWM.
