The former Parliament Speaker TrajkoVeljanoski said via his Facebook that there are no financial, economic and/or security-political reasons to have separate presidential and general elections, except for the party calculations of the Government.
Veljanoski recalled the past election cycles in Macedonia and concluded that on three occasions (namely in 1994, 2009 and 2014) two election processes were held simultaneously.
“Therefore, when it comes to the next general and presidential elections, it is absolutely clear that there are no financial, economic and/or security-political reasons to have separate presidential and general elections, except for the party calculations of the government,” reads the former Speaker’s Facebook post.
