The fact that the online media have formed a membership organization is a positive step because in this way they will have the opportunity to further represent their rights and interests. The Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) is open to cooperation especially in those points of interest that are in the direction of improving the rights of media workers, their protection, as well as the promotion of ethical rules and other topics of public interest , said the Association of Journalists of Macedonia in connection with the establishment of Onlinemedia – a new association of internet portals for the advancement of status in society.
In relation to the request that online media be placed in a legal framework, or rather be regulated by the Law on Media, it is noted that this is a general consensus among the stakeholders themselves.
Onlinemedia demanded urgent changes in three laws: in the Law on Media, in the Law on Copyright and Related Rights and in the Election Code, and the AJM believes that the issue of the Law on Media has been resolved.
