The high-quality, timely and transparent performance of the statistical function of the National Bank is of vital importance for ensuring economic stability, conducting monetary policy and making decisions based on information by policy makers, for the economy and for citizens.
This was discussed at a meeting between the Director of the IMF Department of Statistics, Albert Kruse, and Governor Anita Angelovska-Bezhoska and Vice-Governor Ana Mitreska, held within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, which are held in Marrakesh, Morocco.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that the National Bank started publishing a new set of statistical data on debt securities from last year, as part of the process of harmonizing with international statistical standards.
