The extremely humiliating ignorant attitude and cynicism of the government, which the pensioners have been suffering for three months, will result in a new, massive protest by pensioners from all over Macedonia in Skopje on November 7, 2023.
The pensioners’ protests began in Prilep at the beginning of August, after which they spread throughout the country. The initial demands were a linear increase in pensions by MKD 3,500, for now, that amount, due to the enormous corruption that is still rampant, should rise to MKD 5,000. The last pension of the pensioners was increased by only 5.2 percent, although they were initially announced about a 7 percent increase, which further increased their revolt.
