The Government proposes through the Ministry of Agriculture, with the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Agricultural Land, that even the most fertile Macedonian soil can be converted for the construction of photovoltaic power plants, said VMRO-DPMNE on Wednesday.
“Third and fourth class agricultural land will be able to be converted into construction land, for the purpose of building energy facilities in dedicated zones, with changes in one of the articles. In Article 51, there is also another major amendment, namely, that pastures, such as agricultural lands, can be converted into construction lands, stating that photoelectric plants will be built there as well. While there is a shortage of food in the world, while food in Macedonia reaches record prices, the government wants to destroy the little domestic production that is left,” said the largest opposition party VMRO-DPMNE.
