The former President of the Republic of Macedonia, Dr. Gjorge Ivanov, from November 1 to November 4, participated in the ninth high-level symposium organized by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences from Beijing, on the topic “Cooperation in new circumstances: Status quo and aspirations”.

In his presentation, Ivanov referred to this year’s anniversary of 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations and 30 years of friendship between the Republic of Macedonia and the People’s Republic of China.

“Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the People’s Republic of China has provided Macedonia with over 325 million yuan of aid for education, medical care, scientific research and other areas. The trade balance has a constant trade deficit for Macedonia. In 2022, we exported 57 million dollars and imported goods in the amount of 994 million dollars. China is the fourth country in a row with which Macedonia achieves the largest volume of exchange with the world, and it will probably soon rank third,” Ivanov said.
