Skopje was liberated in the Second World War on this day, on November 13, 1944. Liberation is the Piedmont of the struggle for the liberation of Macedonia from the fascist occupier in the face of fascist Bulgaria and fascist Italy, VMRO-DPMNE deputy leader Aleksandar Nikoloski said in a Facebook post on Monday.

“Dimitar Vlahov, Metodija Andonov Chento and General Mihajlo Apostolski were the first to enter liberated Skopje. Vlahov, as one of the legends of the VMRO in the period of the liberation struggles against the Ottoman Empire, and later against the three neighbors that divide Macedonia, is the best indicator of the national character of the Macedonian people’s struggle in the Second World War and the participation of the VMRO activists in the partisan movement and the liberation of Macedonia. Eternal glory to them”, said Nikoloski.
