FVA: No salmonella found in the food of the school kitchens, the source of the infection will be further determined

The Food and Veterinary Agency (FVA) received the results of food samples and raw materials for food preparation, from all school kitchens in the Municipality of Karposh where food is prepared, where cases of suspected poisoning were reported and an extraordinary inspection was carried out.

Laboratory results of the examined food which was taken from the central warehouse of the food operator Vanilla Food which is located in the “Dimo Hadji Dimov” elementary school have an orderly finding, as well as the samples from the four kitchens in the primary schools where food is prepared. They are in accordance with the Rulebook on special requirements that refer to the microbiological criteria for food, that is, the presence of the salmonella bacterium has not been determined in them.

In two of the school kitchens managed by this food operator, samples were taken only from the working surfaces for which the results have not yet been obtained, because during the surveillance, no prepared food was found. Only products and raw materials for food preparation delivered from the central warehouse, from where samples were previously taken, were found, for which the laboratory findings confirmed the absence of Salmonella, that is, they are in accordance with the Rulebook on special requirements that refer to the microbiological criteria for the food.
