The 2024 Budget is wasteful and criminal. SDS and DUI for 2024, as well as for the previous years of their rule, are projecting a megalomaniac budget, with a lot of money for purchases and stuffing their pockets, VMRO-DPMNE spokesperson MarijaMiteva said at a press conference on Thursday.
“For six consecutive years, from 2018 to today, SDS and DUI have historically voted the largest budgets, but for six years in a row Macedonia has stagnated, even though the government spends billions. The budget for 2024 is 2 billion euros higher than the one in 2018, the budget grows annually by 300 to 400 million euros, and the economy stagnates. From 2017 to 2023, the countries in the region recorded a GDP per capita growth of over 50%, while Macedonia for the same period recorded a growth of only 20%. Macedonia is becoming the poorest country not only in Europe, but also in the Balkans,” said the opposition spokesperson.
