MoI conducts official interrogation of second suspect for the removal of the flag in the Popova Shapka monastery


The Macedonian Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced that on Thursday at the Tetovo police department interrogated the 23-year-old B.L. from Mala Rechica, who is the second person suspected of taking down the flag of the Macedonian Orthodox Church-Ohrid Archdiocese from the flagpole of the “St. Naum Ohridski Chudotvorec” monastery on Popova Shapka Mountain and placing the flag of the Republic of Albania.

According to the Ministry of Interior, after documenting the case, appropriate charges will be made against B.L.

Two masked men took down the MOC flag Wednesday afternoon from the flagpole in front of the “St. Naum Ohridski” monastery, after which they put up an Albanian flag in its place.
