The municipality should serve the citizens, not the personal interest, said the mayor of the Skopje Aerodrom municipality Timcho Mucunski in an interview for the daily newspaper Vecher.
The mayor stresses that the first most significant steps taken by the current municipal management is to change the culture and the way of behavior towards the institution by cutting the funds for representation and travel expenses.
He added that after his arrival to the helm of the municipality Aerodrom, the treatment of urban planning changed and today Aerodrom holds the record for the number of least issued permits for the construction of residential buildings.
“We are probably the record holders for the number of least issued permits for the construction of residential buildings. We have repurposed many locations where residential buildings were planned into locations for parks and greenery, and precisely at one of those key locations, construction of a new park is currently underway, and I expect that at the beginning of spring we will get a park of 6,000 square meters,” said Mucunski.
