Osmani: DUI’s next mission is president of the country

DUI spokesperson and Macedonian Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said Saturday that his political party’s next goal was to have a DUI member be elected President of North Macedonia.

“Talat Xhaferi will be the first Albanian prime minister,” Osmani said at a party event in Chair.

The FM said naming an ethnic Albanian prime minister for the first time was “part of breaking up the ethnic monopoly” and would pave the way for electing an ethnic Albanian PM for the second time when this “will no longer be an issue”.

“And the last post where there is an ethnic monopoly is the head of the state, but that is DUI’s next mission,” Osmani said.
