In the last ten years, there has been a considerable increase in corruption in the country, said United States Ambassador Angela Aggeler at a press briefing on Wednesday. She reiterated the statement that there is an epidemic of corruption in N. Macedonia.
“As I have already said, there is an epidemic of corruption in the country, in every sector, in every organization. Only by announcing the corrupt actors can we help the country “get to work” on this,” said Aggeler, speaking about the designation of several individuals, including Kocho Angjushev, on the US blacklist.
According to the ambassador, in the period of 32 years of relations between the United States and Macedonia, the United States, apart from military aid, gave almost half a billion dollars for good governance and the rule of law.
