The Greek company Archirodon did not sign the contract for the construction of the Chebren hydropower plant on the last working day of the year. But Minister Shukova says that they have to wait until the deadline – December 31, so that it might not arrive by post or electronically.
Against Chebren being built by a foreign company, which would do business with it for 60 years, is also the Association of Engineers, who submitted a complaint to several institutions, including Macedonian President Pendarovski. They believe that the state has the capacity and knowledge to build this capital project, and instead of flowing abroad, the money would stay in the country.
