Orthodox Christians in the country are celebrating Orthodox Christmas Eve, Badnik, on January 6, the day preceding Christmas, the great holiday of the Birth of Jesus Christ.

The celebration of the holiday begins with children singing Christmas carols at the people’s doorsteps. They are our earthly angels. They are the messengers of Christmas. From early morning they wake us up with song and joy. They are the first messengers of the holiday – delivering joy. Our angels for God and for Christmas Eve. Early in the dawn, every house hears the beautiful child’s voice, like the voice of the angels about the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
