The last holiday weekend in Gostivar was lively due to the departure of migrant workers, who came for the New Year and Christmas holidays. In the past two weeks, their presence was noticeable in restaurants, shops, and mostly on the streets. This week, the biggest congestion was at the bus station where most buses to international destinations depart.
The latest estimates based on reports from travel agencies and carriers indicate that the number of people in Gostivar has doubled in the past two weeks.
The estimates of tourist workers and carriers are that this year, only in the first week of January, two hundred buses left Gostivar for destinations in the west, which on average transport 55-60 passengers, so as they say, the rough estimate is that in one week they traveled at least 11 thousand passengers.
