Kovachevski’s resignation likely to happen on January 26

Macedonian Prime Minister DimitarKovachevski will have to resign from his post by January 26 at the latest, so that acaretaker government could be formed.

Parliament Speaker TalatXhaferi said at a press briefing Monday that he had no information that the parties had agreed on the date for the elections. But he said that he was informed by the media that it could be May 8.

“If the elections are held on May 8, as is written in the media, then on February 28, or 70 days earlier, the elections should be announced, and on January 26-27, a caretaker government should be formed. Until now, I have not received any information from the parties that it has been agreed that the elections will be held on May 8 together with the presidential elections,” said Xhaferi.
