The Macedonian Ministry of Interior made a decision that identity cards with the Republic of Macedonia title will continue to be valid for domestic use after February 13, 2024.
“We think that for domestic use and within the borders of the Republic of North Macedonia, the identity card with the name of the country Republic of Macedonia, which is valid, should continue to be valid even after 02/13/2024,” the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.
The MoI adds that it is an indisputable fact that the amendments to the Law on Identity Cards, which bring compliance with the Constitutional amendments in terms of the new constitutional name of the country, as well as with the Law on the use of languages, have not yet been adopted, that is, they are in Parliament procedure.
