Regarding the statement of Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, that President Stevo Pendarovski has undertaken the obligation for possible negotiations with the Greek authorities to extend the validity of the Macedonian documents with the name Republic of Macedonia, his cabinet emphasizes that the procedures related to the personal documents are not under the competence of the President.

The president’s office informed that “as we previously informed, President Pendarovski made a proposal to overcome the problem that arose in relation to the replacement of personal documents and travel documents, but that procedure is under the full competence of the Government and the Parliament. In terms of communication with Greece, President Pendarovski can help in the process, but he has not undertaken an obligation in that sense.”
