3,828 people die every year due to air pollution in Macedonia

There are 3,828 deaths per year in Macedonia that can be attributed to exposure to the current concentrations of PM2.5 particles, which is 17.7 percent of the total mortality in the country, reads the latest report called “Air pollution in Macedonia and health risks”, which was prepared by Assoc. Dr. Mirjana Dimovska, head of the department for water safety, environmental sanitation and health ecotoxicology, at the Institute of Public Health (IPH).
