The price caps measure is being extended until February 29, 2024, instead of until January 31, 2024.
According to SDSM, basic food products, such as rice, flour, bread, other bakery products, biscuits, wafers, pasta, meat and meat products, milk, eggs, cheese, and other dairy products will continue to be sold at lower prices.
“The set of measures to protect the standard of the citizens gave results and at the same time inflation is decreasing. A year ago, the inflation rate for food was 20 percent, and now it has been reduced to only 0.1 percent for food, while the overall inflation rate has decreased and is around 3.5 percent,” said SDSM in a press release.
