Outgoing Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski has handed over his duties to his successor, caretaker Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi.
Xhaferi was welcomed by Kovachevski on Monday and the two held a brief tête-à-tête meeting, followed by statements to the media.
Kovachevski congratulated caretaker PM Xhaferi on his election and new office, wishing him a successful mandate and efficient work in the interest of all citizens and the Republic of North Macedonia, the Government said in a press release.
Kovachevski and Xhaferi both stressed the importance of organizing and implementing peaceful, fair and democratic elections, as well as efficiently implementing the government policies in line with the Program of work of the transitional Government and in the direction of the Euro-Atlantic commitments of the Republic of N. Macedonia.
