The president of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), Marko Bislimoski, in an interview with SlobodenPechat, expressed confidence that on July 1 of this year, the ERC will not allow an increase in the electricity price within its competences.

“In the part that is regulated by the ERC, that is, the price for the transmission of electricity and the price of an operator in the market, I responsibly claim that there will be no change because we say and we regulate. We cannot influence other things. But I can promise that where we regulate, there will be no change,” Bislimoski said.

He also explained why certain households received higher electricity bills this month and called on citizens to submit objections, after which their bills will be corrected.

“Since the operator of the distribution system cannot read all the meters at once on the 31st, an assessment was made. In the case of a large number of households, that assessment is wrong, that is, the consumption is not that high, and because of this there are increased costs for electricity, not because of the price, but because of the quantity. There are complaints with us and we accept 90% of those complaints and force the operator of the distribution system to find a way to put the real situation,” said the ERC head.
