Starting March, the minimum wage will increase to MKD 22,500, which will be some MKD 2,400 more than the current MKD 20,175.

Since 2017, the minimum wage has been constantly growing and now amounts to MKD 20,175. In 6 years, the minimum wage has increased 4 times. The growth of the minimum wage comes as a result of inflation, which in the last 2 years had a strong impact on the Macedonian standard.

The Macedonian denar lost more and more of its value under the onslaught of ever higher prices, which for some products jumped by 100%.

From the point of view of the growth of food prices in the last 2-3 years, it will not be wrong to state that with MKD 20,000 today, you can buy in a store the same thing that was bought for 10,000 a year ago.
