The Bitola Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office initiated a procedure against a 35-year-old resident of the village of DolnoOrizari who is suspected of causing general danger from Article 288 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
On March 2, in the evening hours, the suspect entered a casino on LazoTrpovski Street in Bitola, climbed to the floor of the building where there were other people, then poured gasoline on six slot machines and set them on fire. This caused a fire that engulfed part of the inventory and caused a significant danger to the lives of people and property on a large scale.
Following a proposal from the competent public prosecutor, the judge of a preliminary procedure from the Basic Court in Bitola determined a detention measure for eight days for the suspect.
