The head of the State Election Commission (SEC) AleksandarDashtevski said on Monday that the Commission is proposing the introduction of a transitional provision in the Electoral Code that would enable citizens who have unexpired documents bearing the country’s old name to vote at the upcoming elections.

“As the SEC, we made a proposal to the Parliament – to make an amendment to the Electoral Code in which there will be a transitional provision only for these elections, that the old valid documents should also be valid, so that all citizens can vote. Whether it will be adopted or not, depends on the Parliament,” Dashtevski pointed out.

As for people who turn 18 years of age, Dashtevski said that they will be able to register and be included to the Voters’ List.
