Extraordinary inspections of vaccination certificates aimed at curbing spread of whooping cough

The Ministry of Health said it would accept the recommendations of the Commission for Infectious Diseases aimed at curbing the spread of whooping cough (pertussis) in the country.

The Health Minister will issue a decision instructing the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate (SHI) to act in accordance with the legal powers provided by the Law on the Protection of the Population from Infectious Diseases, as well as to carry out extraordinary inspections, i.e. inspection of the vaccination certificates provided by the vaccination whooping cough vaccine application points.

The Ministry of Health appeals to parents that the best way to prevent whooping cough is vaccination, so they should vaccinate their children. Vaccination against whooping cough is carried out with combined vaccines: Hexaxim (DTaP-IPV-Hib-HepB), Pentaxim (DTaP-IPV-Hib) and Tetraxim (DTaP-IPV).
