Today is a step forward towards the advancement of our bilateral relations with Japan, because representatives of leading Japanese companies have come to get to know our country and the opportunities for development, said the Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Economic Affairs, Fatmir Bytyqi.

“Our country has a strategic location, proximity and access to the EU’s single market, and our legislation is largely aligned with that of the European Union, and we have been working on that in the last few years and are still working on it. North Macedonia is a desirable destination for both Japanese and other world investors. 2022 was a year with record foreign investments of 753.8 million euros, the year of the post COVID crisis. That is a sufficient indicator of the maturity of our economy and business environment,” said Deputy Prime Minister Bytyqi.

Bytyqi emphasizes that North Macedonia is no longer a country of cheap labor, yet offers foreign investors highly qualified workers with dignified wages.
