The Additional Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Tripunovski was on a working visit to the municipality of Bitola. Meetings were held with farmers from the village Velushina and Kravari where current situations and problems were discussed.

“In 2016, around 80,000 ha were under wheat, and in 2022, the areas fall to 70,000 ha, which means 10,000 ha less. In 2016, we produced 306,000 tons of wheat, and in 2022, somewhere around 224,000 tons, which means that the area and the wheat produced are also decreasing. These are official data from the reports of the SSO and the annual reports of the Ministry of Agriculture. It causes demotivation among farmers and therefore they leave the field and agriculture as their primary activity,” said Tripunovski.
