Only 34 percent of citizens would fight for the country in times of war, shows survey

If there was a war involving your country, would you fight for your country? 34% of those surveyed in N. Macedonia said “Yes” to this question, 51% replied with “No” and 15% – I don’t know/did not give an answer, Deutsche Wellereports on Tueday.

These are the results from a new Gallup International survey conducted in 45 countries around the world, representing more than half of the world’s population. A total of 46,138 people were interviewed, by phone, online or face to face, in the period from October to December 2023. In Macedonia, 1,202 adult citizens were interviewed face to face, in the period from December 1 to 21, 2023. If you look at the percentage in the EU according to the total results, those who would fight for the country are 32%, those who would not fight is 47%, and 21% have no answer.
